Poetic Beauty of Rural Italy
Based on recent experience from working on my solo photography project “One Euro Italy” exhibited in Toronto in May 2018, I’ve created this workshop to provide participants with an opportunity to photograph charming small and rural Italian communities hard to find on the map.
While we will certainly help you to improve your camera skills, the main goals of this workshop are: to help you overcome your internal creativity blocks, train your eye and learn how to build your own visual narrative. This will mainly happen through photographing unknown people in their environment. We will be meeting local farmers, artisans, artists, small business owners to learn about their everyday life, their pride in what they do, their passion for land, tradition and heritage deeply rooted in vast layers of history and surrounding nature. Relaxingly breathtaking views of hills, mountains and valleys of Umbria, astonishing medieval and renaissance art and architecture will become backdrops for your story and help you tune into creative mood. The wrap up exercise of each day will be our friendly image review and critique session, where everyone brings up their best shots of the day and learns how to further improve them.
Hospitality with your peace of mind
We will be staying about 10 km from famous town of Assisi in a picturesque Art Boutique Relais (retreat) – Incantico. Decorated by talented designers and built with help of local artisans it is situated on a breathtaking 40 acre eco park property in rural Umbria 2100 ft above the sea level. While on the property you will be able to enjoy many hiking trails, self-cleaning eco lake, small waterfall, lavender field, olive grooves and gardens, heated outside pool, sauna, coffee room or even a tango night, archery or chi gong sessions.

Three meals a day (breakfast, lunch & dinner with wine) are included in the price and will be served fresh by a local chef, who will introduce culinary specialties from different Italian regions. Dietary needs can be accommodated, but need to be stated clearly upon your registration.
* On our arrival day we will be served with dinner only. On our departure day with breakfast only.
*Sometimes our lunch will be packed for us to go as we will be out on location.
